Colt 45s Roll to 9-2 Win Over Monarchs
The Houston Colt 45s thumped the Kansas City Monarchs, 9-2, at Minute Maid Park. Pete Hill was a big reason his team got the win. Hill went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. With the win, Houston pushed its record to 72-69.

Gorman Thomas had a big 2-run home run for the Colt 45s in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Houston leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Adam Wainwright and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Colt 45s on top, 4-0.

"Pete is still learning," said Colt 45s manager Daniel Makonnen. "The sky's the limit for him."
