Spirited fans greeted the New York Black Yankees for their clash with the Detroit Wolverines.

The Detroit Wolverines powered past the New York Black Yankees, 9-5, at Yankee Stadium. Hank Greenberg provided some of the pop. He went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring twice. The win went to Chad Bradford in relief. His record improves to 8-7. Goose Gossage took the loss.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Greenberg delivered big-time for Detroit, stroking a dramatic grand slam home run off Goose Gossage. The game-changing hit put the Wolverines on top, 9-5.

"I felt good up there," said Greenberg. "I saw the ball well."

The win puts Detroit at 73-69 this season.
