The Wandering House of David defeated the Ottawa Mounties, 5-4, at Wrigley Field. Wandering first baseman Mark McGwire had a superb performance. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The 4th-place House of David hiked their record to 69-73.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, McGwire hit a sinker from Randy Johnson for a solo home run. The House of David, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"We saved our best for last," said McGwire.
