Black Yankees Beaten By Wolverines, 6-2

Connie Johnson was locked in. The right-hander led the Detroit Wolverines to a 6-2 win against the New York Black Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The triumph puts Detroit at 74-69 for the season.
Detroit used a clutch at-bat from Hank Greenberg to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Wolverines ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Greenberg said.
