Mounties Win Nail-Biter
The Ottawa Mounties beat the Baltimore Black Sox, 5-4, at Camden Yards. The win was due in part to second baseman Bernie Allen, who went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. With the win, the Mounties improved to 65-78.

Ottawa used a clutch hit from Larry Walker to get the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mounties ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

In postgame comments to the Ottawa Today, Allen said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
