The Brooklyn Royal Giants faced a tough opponent in Kansas City pitcher Frank Castillo, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ebbets Field by a final score of 4-3. Castillo went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The win belonged to Eric Gagne in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Craig Kimbrel took the loss for Kansas City.
