Spiders Rally to Eke Out Win
No one was more impactful than Ron Blomberg in the 6-5 Cleveland win over Philadelphia. Blomberg, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in home runs with 40, was 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win gives Cleveland a season record of 79-64.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Cleveland first baseman John Ellis, facing Larry Jackson, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Spiders the 6-5 win.

"This game tested our mettle," said Blomberg.
