Belle Hits 2 home runs in Black Barons Win
The Birmingham Black Barons beat the Indianapolis ABCs, 13-7, at Crosley Field. Albert Belle, who is on pace for 111 RBI this season, starred for Birmingham. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Birmingham pitcher John Malarkey got the win, upping his record to 11-4. Johnny Cueto got the loss. The win puts the Black Barons at 69-76, while the ABCs drop to 71-75.

With Birmingham leading 9-0 in the top of the fourth, Belle came up to bat against Indianapolis pitcher Dolf Luque. Belle hit a fastball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 43rd home run of the season put the Black Barons on top, 12-0.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Black Barons manager Daniel Makonnen.
