Black Barons Pull Out Late Win, 5-4
The Black Barons grabbed a win, 5-4, at Rickwood Field, overcoming a fine effort from Houston pitcher Roy Oswalt. Oswalt went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Reliever Akinori Otsuka picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Andrew Chafin took the loss. The Birmingham win streak is now 3 games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Albert Belle in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a solo home run off 25-year old left-handed pitcher Andrew Chafin to win the game for Birmingham. The home crowd went nuts.

"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Houston manager Daniel Makonnen.
