The Homestead Grays used the hitting of catcher Josh Gibson to subdue the Brooklyn Royal Giants, 10-7. For the game, Gibson went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Grays saw their win-loss record go to 71-78. At the same time, the Royal Giants fell to 91-58.

Homestead used a clutch at-bat from Mike Epstein to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Grays ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"It felt good to put the barrel on the ball," said Epstein.
