Bob Bescher did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Indianapolis ABCs from being beaten, 8-5, to the Philadelphia Stars at Crosley Field. Bescher was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. With the win, Philadelphia upped its record to 76-73.

Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Bill Dickey to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stars on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Dickey.
