Spiders Victors, 6-1, at Chicago
The Cleveland Spiders picked up a win at South Side Park, dropping the Chicago American Giants, 6-1. Bill Steen, who is tied for 6th in the AL in wins with 13, was the difference-maker. The current losing streak for Chicago has reached 4 games.

Cleveland won the game in part because of Larry Doby. The right fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Spiders ahead, 3-1. For the game, Doby had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Cleveland manager Daniel Makonnen.
