Biggio goes 3-for-3, Leads Colt 45s to Win
|
The Houston Colt 45s defeated the Philadelphia Stars, 4-2, at Minute Maid Park. Houston was led by 26-year old second baseman Craig Biggio, who went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Billy Wagner sewed up the save, his 1st. Houston goes to 7-9.
Biggio had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-1 splitter from Tim Belcher, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Colt 45s a 4-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Biggio.
Houston manager Daniel Makonnen praised his team's "businesslike approach."
