The Chicago American Giants defeated the Cleveland Spiders, 8-7, in 15 innings. Doing his part was first baseman George Grantham, who slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 4. Chicago is now 67-86.

The American Giants got a clutch hit from catcher Carlton Fisk. In the bottom of the 15th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the American Giants.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Fisk told reporters after the game.
