Williams Hits Two Dingers, Red Sox Win, 14-10
The Memphis Red Sox beat the New York Black Yankees, 14-10, at Yankee Stadium. The win was due in part to right fielder Ted Williams, who was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 4. Rollie Fingers picked up the save for Memphis, his 1st of the year. New York is 8-8 after the defeat.

Andrew Benintendi was 2 for 4 with a double for Memphis. The 23-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 10-10 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Goose Gossage. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Williams told the Memphis Daily News.
