Belle Slugs Black Yankees to 4-2 Win
|
Behind the hitting of Albert Belle, the New York Black Yankees stopped the Cleveland Spiders, 4-2. Belle hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Black Yankees. With the win, New York upped its record to 81-72.
Belle had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-2 changeup from Chuck Porter, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Black Yankees a 4-2 lead. It was the 18th home run of the year for Belle.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Belle said after the game.
