San Francisco turned a good performance from starting pitcher Tom Brewer into a 3-2 triumph over the Detroit Wolverines at Oracle Park. The winner was San Francisco reliever Huston Street, now 6-3. The loser was Jack F Wilson. The victory gives San Francisco a record of 99-56.

The decisive blow was delivered by Turkey Stearnes in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jack F Wilson to win the game for San Francisco. The home crowd went nuts.

"This place went bonkers at the end," Stearnes said.
