Sea Lions Send New York Home with 5-3 Loss
|
The San Francisco Sea Lions picked up a win at Oracle Park, downing the New York Black Yankees, 5-3. On the mound for San Francisco was right-hander Bump Hadley, who played a pivotal role in the win. Rod Beck closed the door for San Francisco, picking up his 5th save of the year. The win gives San Francisco a record of 11-7.
San Francisco center fielder Turkey Stearnes delivered a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and knocked in 2.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Stearnes told the San Francisco Today.
