Miami Loss Diminishes Canseco Performance
Cleveland and Miami duked it out and the Spiders came out victorious.

Miami right fielder José Canseco had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-6, to Cleveland at Baker Bowl. Canseco hit 3 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored three times. The loss puts Miami at 11-12.

The Cuban Giants had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Spiders going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old catcher Louis Santop came to the plate. Santop hit a 2-run triple on a 1-0 fastball from Miami hurler Ed Brandt. It was Santop's 2nd triple of the year.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Santop.
