Lewis Powers American Giants Offense
Chicago and Philadelphia duked it out and the American Giants came out victorious.

The Chicago American Giants relied on the hitting of left fielder Duffy Lewis to stop the Philadelphia Stars, 9-6. For the game, Lewis went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times. A. J. Minter got credit for the save for Chicago. It was his 3rd of the year.

The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Lewis delivered big-time for Chicago, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Pedro Feliciano. The game-changing hit put the American Giants on top, 6-5.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Lewis. "And not try to do too much."

The loss makes Philadelphia 13-10.
