Malone K's 12 En Route to 3-2 Spiders Win
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Cleveland Spiders eventually prevailed.
Starting pitcher Pat Malone gave the Cleveland Spiders a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Miami Cuban Giants, 3-2, at League Park. Terry Adams closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.
Malone was in the zone all game. He frustrated Miami hitters while giving the Spiders 7 innings of quality work. Malone threw 107 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 12 punchouts.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Malone.
The loss makes the Cuban Giants 10-15.
