Late Rally by Colt 45s Locks Up 5-2 Win
|
The Birmingham Black Barons got a sterling performance from pitcher John Malarkey, but the Houston Colt 45s still prevailed, 5-2. Malarkey threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Billy Wagner, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Birmingham falls to 8-18.
Houston got a knockout punch from Carlos Correa. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
Correa called the win "a team effort."
