Royal Giants Clip ABCs, 4-3
The Brooklyn Royal Giants took Willie Mitchell's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Crosley Field. The final score had Brooklyn getting past the ABCs, 4-3, in 13 innings. Mitchell over 6.1 innings allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 7. The win went to Frank Knauss in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Sad Sam Jones took the loss. The ABCs drop to 12-14 and continue their mediocre start to the 2001 season.

Brooklyn took a 4-3 lead on Ray Dandridge's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Dandridge hit in the top of the 13th, left Indianapolis pitcher Sad Sam Jones visibly frustrated.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Dandridge said.
