Blomberg Slugs Spiders to 8-4 Win
The Cleveland Spiders defeated the Baltimore Black Sox, 8-4. Doing his part was designated hitter Ron Blomberg, who slugged 3 home runs. He drove in 7 runs and scored three times. The Black Sox, now 9-17, continue their slow start.

With Cleveland trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Blomberg hit a curveball from Jim Palmer for a grand slam home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Spiders ahead, 4-2.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Baltimore manager Daniel Makonnen.
