|
Chicago right fielder Chino Smith played a vital role in his team's 6-4 conquest of Baltimore. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for Chicago. The loss puts Baltimore at 7-18.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Chicago trailing 4-3, Smith jumped on a curveball from 11-year veteran Buddy Groom and hit a 3-run home run to right. With one swing, the American Giants had a walk-off win.
Said Smith: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"
