Guidry Shackles Cleveland in 2-1 Black Yankees Win
Yankee Stadium hosted a real pitchers' duel.

New York pitcher Ron Guidry did his part in helping his team defeat the Cleveland Spiders, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Sparky Lyle closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.

Guidry gave New York an exquisite performance. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 8 innings.

"All in all, I thought Ron pitched a fine game for us tonight," said New York manager Daniel Makonnen.

The winning streak has now reached 7 games for New York.
