Cuban Giants Drop Grays, 7-1
The Miami Cuban Giants defeated the Homestead Grays, 7-1, at Forbes Field. Miami was led by 26-year old shortstop Robin Yount, who went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Miami goes to 16-17, Homestead to 15-16.

Miami took a 5-1 lead on Yount's 13th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Billy Pierce in the top of the seventh, propelled Miami to the win.

Said losing manager Daniel Makonnen: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
