It might have been a rain-shorted game, but Grays fans didn't seem to mind as long as their team got the win.

Homestead Grays starter David Price pitched effectively against the Wandering House of David at Forbes Field. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. Price got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 3 over 5.2 innings. He allowed no runs.

The House of David had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Grays going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old second baseman Nap Lajoie came to the plate. Lajoie hit a run-scoring double on a 0-2 sinker from Wandering hurler Rick Reuschel. It was Lajoie's 1st double of the year.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Lajoie.

Wandering is 0-4 after the loss.
