ABCs Rally Late to Nip Black Barons
Indianapolis turned a good performance from starting pitcher Eppa Rixey into a 3-2 triumph over the Birmingham Black Barons at Crosley Field. The win went to Billy McCool in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Don Cardwell took the loss. The ABCs now have a record of 12-25.

Indianapolis took a 3-2 lead on Oscar Charleston's 16th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Charleston hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Birmingham pitcher Don Cardwell visibly frustrated.

"We'll try to build on that win," Charleston told the Indianapolis News.
