Conditions were not ideal but Homestead and Ottawa were able to put their game in the books.

The Ottawa Mounties got a sterling performance from right fielder Larry Walker, but the Homestead Grays still prevailed, 12-11. Walker went 4-5 with 4 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win belonged to Josh Lindblom in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Atlee Hammaker took the loss for Ottawa.

Homestead got a knockout punch from Chris Sabo. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Sabo told the Homestead Herald.

The victory makes Homestead 2-3.
