Alomar Hits 2 home runs in Mounties Win
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Roberto Alomar, the Ottawa Mounties defeated the Philadelphia Stars, 5-3. Alomar went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Mounties. Charles Radbourn, who is tied for 4th in the NL in wins with 5, was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 9 strikeouts. The Mounties bumped their record to 19-19 with this win.

Alomar had a timely hit for Ottawa in the bottom of the eighth. With Ottawa trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-0 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Ottawa.
