Spiders Deal Angels 11-4 Loss
The Cleveland Spiders topped the Los Angeles Angels, 11-4, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim 1998. Cleveland designated hitter Ron Blomberg was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Cleveland pitcher Cy Young got the win, upping his record to 5-1. Tom Seaver got the loss. The Spiders have now reeled off 6 straight wins.

Cleveland used a clutch at-bat from Lance Berkman to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Spiders ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Berkman.
