Gothams Come Up Short at Indianapolis, 9-8
Despite a fine performance by catcher Wes Westrum, the New York Gothams lost to the Indianapolis ABCs, 9-8. Westrum was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Johnny Cueto earned the win to go to 7-1. He allowed 6 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work. Rob Murphy earned the save, his 1st.

Third Baseman Tommy Helms made an impact for Indianapolis, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Gaylord Perry in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Helms was 2 for 4 with a double. He scored 2 times.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Daniel Makonnen.

With the victory, the ABCs upped their record to 21-21.
