Black Sox Earn 3-1 Home Win
|
Baltimore turned a good performance from starting pitcher Connie Johnson into a 3-1 triumph over the Cleveland Spiders at Camden Yards. The Black Sox, at 18-27, have now won 5 straight.
The Black Sox got a big at-bat from designated hitter Bill Jacobson. For the game, Jacobson was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Baltimore a 3-1 lead.
"The vibe's good," said Baltimore manager Daniel Makonnen. "We've got to keep it going."
