Pirates Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Tarpons
|
Starting pitcher Kyle Gibson had a solid game. He was a big reason the Tallahassee Pirates throttled the Tampa Bay Tarpons, 6-1. Tallahassee raised its record to 51-51 with the win.
Randy Bush put Tallahassee in front, 5-0, when he took Herm Wehmeier downtown. His 3-run home run came with one out in the bottom of the sixth. It was his 15th home run of the season.
"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Tampa Bay skipper Travis Jackson. "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
