Baseball fans saw a good contest between the New York Black Yankees and Miami Cuban Giants.
The New York Black Yankees got a good effort from starter Dave Righetti in defeating the Miami Cuban Giants at Baker Bowl. The final score was 4-2. Righetti got the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Righetti allowed no runs.
New York used the clutch hitting of Derek Jeter to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Black Yankees the lead, 4-0. For the game, Jeter had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Righetti.
The win elevated the Black Yankees to 27-17.
