Bulls Find a Way to Win
|
Durham right-hander Van Mungo helped his team edge Tampa Bay by the score of 3-2. Mungo kept the opposing lineup in check. Durham reliever Euel Moore got the win, raising his record to 3-12. Justin Hampson was tagged with the loss. The Bulls now have a record of 24-84.
In the top of the tenth, Durham center fielder Whitey Witt had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and two out, Witt stroked a run-scoring double to center. It made the score 2-1, Durham. For the game, he was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk.
"This game tested our mettle," said Witt.
