Led by Evan Longoria, the Cleveland Spiders defeated the San Francisco Sea Lions, 6-4. Longoria was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Spiders. Bill Steen was the winner. He's now 2-5. The loser was Watty Clark. The win gives Cleveland a season record of 25-20.

With Cleveland leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Longoria hit a fastball from Watty Clark for a 2-run double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Spiders ahead, 6-3.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Cleveland manager Daniel Makonnen.
