Conditions were not ideal but Homestead and Indianapolis were able to put their game in the books.

A good performance from catcher Josh Gibson helped the Homestead Grays defeat the Indianapolis ABCs, 9-1. Gibson went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Grays. Homestead goes to 4-1.

With Homestead leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Gibson hit a fastball from Dolf Luque for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Grays ahead, 5-0.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Gibson. "More importantly, I had a good game."
