Brooklyn beat Houston on the strength of starting pitcher Smokey Joe Williams's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Williams yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 5-5. Eric Gagne finished the game for Brooklyn and earned his 11th save.
