Grays Win Thriller, 8-5
|
Getting offensive support from Josh Gibson, the Homestead Grays topped the Ottawa Mounties, 8-5. Gibson went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Grays. Homestead pitcher Daniel Hudson earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. BJ Ryan suffered the loss. The win has Homestead at 3-3.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Homestead trailing 5-4, Gibson hit a slider from BJ Ryan for a grand slam home run, giving the Grays the walk-off win.
"This game was intense," Gibson said, postgame.
