Thome Pops Two Homers in 10-3 Win for Miami
The Miami Cuban Giants topped the Baltimore Black Sox, 10-3, in American League action at Baker Bowl. The game was highlighted by the performance of Miami first baseman Jim Thome. Cole Hamels, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in wins with 6, was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. José Canseco had a big 2-run home run for the Cuban Giants in the bottom of the first inning.
