Spiders Suffer 7-2 Road Loss
With designated hitter Lou Gehrig leading the charge, the New York Black Yankees defeated the Cleveland Spiders, 7-2, at Yankee Stadium. Gehrig, who is tied for 8th in the AL in bases on balls with 85, belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win lifted the New York record to 89-67.

New York took a 5-2 lead on Gehrig's 62nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Cy Young in the bottom of the sixth, propelled New York to the win.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said New York manager Daniel Makonnen.
