Behind a fine performance from Cal Ripken Jr, the Baltimore Black Sox knocked off the Portland Sea Dogs, 10-6. Ripken Jr went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Black Sox. The win belonged to Gregg Olson in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Dizzy Trout took the loss for Portland. Baltimore is 4th in the American League Bill James Division with a record of 73-84.

Baltimore took the lead, 7-6, on Eddie Murray's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Portland pitcher Dizzy Trout in the bottom of the seventh.
