The Philadelphia Stars spoiled a good performance by Indianapolis center fielder Oscar Charleston, bumping off Indianapolis, 8-7, at Shibe Park AL. Charleston went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win gives Philadelphia a season record of 83-75.

Philadelphia got a knockout punch from Aaron Judge. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Judge.
