Mounties Win at Brooklyn, 8-6
Ottawa and Brooklyn duked it out and the Mounties came out victorious.

Despite a great performance by Brooklyn second baseman Ray Dandridge, the Ottawa Mounties defeated the Royal Giants by the score of 8-6 at Ebbets Field. Dandridge was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Danny Cox earned the win for Ottawa. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 1-2. Tom Henke was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 31 save opportunities.

Ottawa used the clutch hitting of Gary Carter to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mounties ahead, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Ottawa skipper Daniel Makonnen.

The Mounties are now 74-84.
