Stearnes Helps San Francisco Outscore New York
San Francisco center fielder Turkey Stearnes helped his team beat the New York Black Yankees, 13-10. Stearnes, who is tied for 7th in the AL with a .403 on-base percentage, went 3 for 4 for the Sea Lions. With the win, San Francisco raised its record to 102-57.

Jacksonville, Florida-born Dick Lundy came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Sea Lions trailing 9-8, he hit a 2-run single to center to put San Francisco on top.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Stearnes.
