Runs were plentiful at Rickwood Field.

The Birmingham Black Barons downed the Brooklyn Royal Giants, 10-9, at Rickwood Field. Jim Pagliaroni led the way, going 2-for-4 for Birmingham. Birmingham reliever Blake Wood snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Juan Mateo shouldered the loss. Harley Young, credited with the save, is now 15 for 18 in save opportunities.

Birmingham grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Pagliaroni hit a solo home run off Juan Mateo. His 44th home run of the season put the Black Barons out in front, 7-6.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Pagliaroni said. "We did a good job of that today."

The Black Barons, at 75-85, sit in last place in the National League Marvin Miller Division.
