Stars Earn Clutch Win, 3-2
|
In a tight contest between the Philadelphia Stars and the New York Gothams, Bill Gatewood was the determining factor. The Philadelphia right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. The winner in relief was Robin Roberts. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 6-3. The win gives Philadelphia a season record of 86-75.
