The Ottawa Mounties topped the Homestead Grays, 5-2, with youngster Emil Gross playing a key role. Gross was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Mounties in the win. The Mounties improved to 76-85.

With the game tied, 2-2, in the bottom of the fifth, Gross had a key at-bat for Ottawa. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Gross hit a 2-run single off Doug Drabek, making the score 4-2, Mounties.
